We have been waiting for this moment since launching our campaign last October, so how is it looking? We are delighted that the Bill demands transparency from companies to show how they stop the exploitation of vulnerable workers. This is a requirement that goes beyond the UK’s Modern Slavery Act, which doesn’t make any requirements on the detail to be included in the report.
The Australia Bill also covers public procurement. This could make Australia the first country with a nationwide responsability on governments to consider their impact on modern slavery when spending billions of dollars on public services.

‘Grooming’ is a Gateway to Online Child Sex Trafficking ( Freedom United Global News,June 17th,2018)
Child sex traffickers are now hanging out on social media and gaming sites, pretending to be poor, troubled teens like the victims they target. It’s a process anti-trafficking campaigners call ‘grooming,’ where children, aged 11 to 15, are courted online by people who pretend to be their peers. Once they’ve gained their trust, they lure or coerce these children to send sexual images of themselves that are shared online. Thomson Reuters Foundation says: recruiters are of similar age (to their victims). They say, ‘I too have problems at school and with my parents. From the USA to the Philippines, a soaring number of young people are being trafficked online, fueled by the global spread of cheap, high-speed internet and rising mobile phone ownership, particularly in developing countries.About 750,000 sexual predators worldwide are online at any given moment, the U.S.-based International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children said last year, often grooming children for sexual abuse as a first step to enslaving them.Experts say that children who come from poor backgrounds or broken families are most at risk .In the United States, last year the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) found that 1 in 7 missing children was a likely victim of sex trafficking. In response to the growing problem of grooming, numerous groups and telecommunication companies around the world are trying to educate children and parents on safe ways to use the internet. To read the entire article, https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-trafficking-technology-youth/grooming-is-gateway-to-child-sex-trafficking-as-seducing-moves-online-idUSKBN1JD00I

Woman Enslaved by Salvadoran Guerrillas to be Deported by U.S. for “Supporting Terrorists”(Freedom United, Global News, June 7th,2018)
A woman who was kidnapped by guerrillas in El Salvador nearly three decades ago and forced to work for them “under the threat of death” is now facing deportation after a U.S. court ruled that her enslavement constituted “material support” for terrorists. The main appellate body of the immigration courts heard that the woman was abducted in 1990 by guerrillas, who subsequently forced her to cook and clean for them. According to court documents, the militants even “forced [her] to witness her husband, a sergeant in the Salvadoran Army, dig his own grave before being killed.” To read the entire article, click here https://edition.cnn.com/2018/06/06/politics/woman-el-salvador-guerillas-ruling/index.html

You feel bad, angry, upset Don’t worry better days will come again Maybe those days will never come again But don’t forget to hope Hope. What is it ? The only way to believe It’s maybe a lie But it’s better than to feel nothing And maybe that hope that you feel…. Is the only way to believe Do I believe ? I forgot to believe, to love and to be loved But we can be reborn, feel, be bad Be angry, be upset, love, breathe To feel everything or nothing But anyway it’s Your Life, My Life Keep it, love it, don’t hurt it And if the others push you, hit you, destroy you Get up and be reborn, rebuild Don’t let anyone be your shadow Make Your Own Shadow And never forget to HOPE .
